General Conference!!!

It was such a good week, even though there were some rough points - here are some highlights!

We tried to visit a lady name Brenda, but we met her husband, Ernesto, instead! He said they were interested, and that we could come back when Brenda is home! Ernesto seems SO genuine and we're super excited to see where he and Brenda go - Hermana Passey and I feel super good about them!

On Friday, we met Rosaura, who was a grey dot in our Area Book. She had hardly ever been contacted, so we went to go and meet her - GUYS. She's SO elect!! She let us inside, said she wants to come to church and watch General Conference, accepted the Book of Mormon as additional scripture, and wanted us to come back for another lesson the next Friday!! She also shared some amazing experiences she's had with trusting the Lord during trials. She's literally so amazing and we're so excited for her!

Conference was SO great!! There were so many amazing talks, but one of my favorites was Elder Andersen's talk about patience and becoming peacemakers. I loved how he talked about Christ "held His peace" when people tried to make Him angry. He "resisted the impulse to respond" and held on to His peace, because He knew that getting angry and saying hurtful things to others never does anything good! I want to get better at that!

Personal Study Excerpt for the week:

Mosiah 2:34 - "...ye are eternally indebted to your Heavenly Father, to render to Him all that you have and are"

--render = to give, supply, return, etc. BUT ALSO vvv

---to melt in order to separate out impurities (syn. to try or test)

--when we "render to Him all that we have and are", we're NOT trying to repay Him for what He's given us - that's impossible for us to do! Instead, we're giving it to Him so that He can PURIFY "all that have and are"

How can you give Him "all that you have and are" and allow Him to separate out the impurities? We have to LET Him purify us!
