Probably the biggest events for this week were all of the awesome lessons we got to have with Dayana, whose baptism is on the 25th (this Saturday!!) We had to make sure she had been taught everything, because she's heading off to Girls' Camp in Laramie, WY for the next few days! We're excited for her, though - if Dayana could be anywhere the week before her baptism, I'd say Girls' Camp is a pretty awesome place to be! She'll get to connect with a lot of members from the stake, and talk about Jesus for 3 days in a row!!
We
got to start teaching Mario, who was a referral from some of the Elders
in Longmont! We taught him about the Restoration, and invited him to
pray about the Book of Mormon. The next day, we texted him and asked him
about his experience with prayer - he responded, "I feel so great! I
know it's true - I'll start reading it tomorrow!" We're so excited for
him!!
Personal Study excerpt for the week:
Alma
42:4 - "And thus we see, that there was a time granted unto man to
repent, yea, a probationary time, a time to repent and serve God."
--probation
--> a trial period during which your character and abilities are
tested to see whether you are suitable for work or for membership // a
trial period during which an offender has time to redeem themself
---unlike
criminal probation, we as human beings are incapable of redeeming
ourselves - our mission in life is to 1. show God our true character and
2. allow Christ to redeem us, because we can't do it on our own!
Love you all and have a great week!
- Hermana DeWitt
