Dayana got baptized and confirmed over the weekend!! It was such a good baptismal service - all of the YW from the nearby English wards were there to support her and participate in the program! Her dad, Roberto, baptized her, and it was such a sweet experience to see them enter the baptismal font together and hug each other after she came up out of the water. On Sunday, Roberto also got to pass the Sacrament for the first time, and I just love being able to see the people we teach participate in ordinances!!
We
also were able to get back in contact with Rosaura! She was on-date for
baptism about a month ago, but she dropped off the face of the earth
for several weeks, so about a week ago, we had to take her off-date,
which was super sad - just a couple days ago, we drove all the way down
to her house in Dacono (about 30 minutes away from Longmont) to try and
visit her before dropping her, since we hadn't been able to contact her
for so long - when we prayed and got out of the car, she was outside
working on a porch project! She saw us and was like, "Oh, Hermanas! Good
to see you - come on in!" We were so surprised to see her, but we went
inside and got to talk to her for a few minutes! She was having some
health problems, so she wasn't at her house for several weeks, and was
unable to answer her phone! (We were so glad that she wasn't ghosting us
on purpose) She still wants to meet with us and be baptized, so we set a new date for July 30th!!
And
on Sunday, Rosaura came to church with her two grandsons, David and
Daniel! She wants them to learn about the Gospel too, so they'll be
joining our lessons in the future! They LOVED Primary - I'm so glad that
they felt so welcome!!
Personal Study excerpt for the week:
Alma
42:15 - "And now, the plan of mercy could not be brought about except
an atonement should be made, therefore God Himself atoneth for the sins
of the world, to bring about the plan of mercy, to appease the demands
of justice, that God might be a perfect, just God, and a merciful God
also."
-appease --> make peace with
-Christ --> the Prince of Peace - He's the ONLY one who could "make peace with" justice and grant us mercy.
-we need to allow Christ to "make peace" between us and Celestial glory - let Him change you!!
Love you all and have an awesome week!
- Hermana DeWitt
