We started teaching Hailey, who we had met last week
while trying to visit a member family (she is their next-door neighbor
and we accidentally knocked on her door, but she was interested and said
we could come back!) So, on Sunday, we went back and talked about the
Restoration - she said her husband Cory wouldn't be interested in
joining us (he had experienced some trauma with different churches when
he was younger), but halfway through, he came in, sat down on the couch,
and listened to us! It was so cool to see how the Spirit softened his
heart.
We
also had dinner with Angela, who joined the church about 4 years ago,
but became inactive during quarantine. She's SUPER nice and is perfectly
fluent in both English and Spanish, which is really awesome! We talked
about why she hadn't been to church in a while, and she realized that
she needs to come back! It was crazy to see how willing she was to make
the commitment to come back to church - all she needed was an
invitation!
Fabiola
is doing great! She loves the Book of Mormon SO much and truly
understands the importance of coming to church and taking the Sacrament
every Sunday, to the point where she wants to call inactive members and
ask why they haven't come to church! She's such a good little missionary - we're so proud of her!
Personal Study Excerpt for the week:
D&C
136: 17 - "Go thy way and do as I have told you, and fear not thine
enemies; for they shall not have power to stop my work."
--how
often do we hesitate to follow Spiritual promptings because we're
afraid of what others will say or think? I know I definitely have! But,
the Lord promises us that if we do what He asks us to do, we have no
need to fear what others will think!
--don't fear what man can do - TRUST in the Lord and follow Spiritual Promptings!
Love you all and have an awesome week!
